Quality Control Systems
"Wouldn’t it be good to have a way of ensuring our products continuing compliance with Quality, Safety and Legal requirements and at the same time save on costs?"
Inspection of both incoming and outgoing components/products is the final confirmation that your, or your supplier’s, quality system is effective. It is also an important tool, when used correctly, to determine the weaknesses or gaps in a system or process. The information generated is a vital ingredient to enable continuous improvement, maximise efficiencies and reduce costs.

Ask yourself these questions:
  • Do you inspect incoming or outgoing product?
  • Do you inspect for inspection sake?
  • Do you need to inspect?
  • Do you utilise AQL sampling plans and techniques?
  • Do you collect inspection data to identify root causes of problems found?
  • Do you have a formal system for the shipment release of imported products?
  • Is your inspection process efficient and cost effective?
If the answer to any of these questions was anything other than a positive Yes then you may not be producing/supplying cost effective quality products.

These issues are even more vital if you are importing goods, particularly from outside of the European Community. Problems need to be identified and corrected before shipment whilst still the responsibility of your supplier.
